Driving experience
Audi A3
As a model line, the A3 is a premium compact hatchback that prioritises refinement. The steering is accurate and consistently weighted, the ride is composed, and the cabin stays quiet at motorway speeds. Front-drive versions are light and predictable, while quattro adds reassuring traction in the wet. The petrols are smooth and eager, the diesels strong and frugal, and the plug-in hybrid glides on electric power. It is tuned for comfort more than entertainment, so it feels mature, easy and confidence-inspiring rather than overtly sporty.
