The C-Class (W205) — the compact Mercedes that does premium comfort and refinement brilliantly.

The W205 brought big-car comfort, luxury and tech down to the compact executive class, with efficient petrol, diesel and plug-in-hybrid engines.

Upgrades

The W205 gained an aluminium-hybrid body and shed up to 100 kg versus the W204.
The 9G-Tronic (9-speed) replaced the W204’s 7G-Tronic.
New M264 petrol and OM654 diesel engines replaced the W204’s M274/OM651.
AIRMATIC air suspension was optional — a first in this class.

Fixes

The W204’s heavier steel body — the W205 is lighter and more economical.
The 9-speed shifts even more smoothly than the W204’s 7-speed.
