The X4 (G02) — the sporty, coupé-like SUV that blends driving fun and space.

The second-generation X4 is a coupé-style version of the X3, with a lower roofline, sportier handling and strong, efficient petrol and diesel engines.

Upgrades

The CLAR platform made the G02 lighter and stiffer than the F26.
New B48/B47/B57/B58 engines replaced the F26’s N20/N55/N47/N57.
The wheelbase grew to 2,864 mm (+54 mm) for more cabin space.
iDrive 7 with a digital cockpit replaced the F26’s older system.

Fixes

The F26’s dated interior — the G02 got a digital cockpit.
The newer engines are more efficient than the F26’s old units.
A more comfortable ride than the F26.
Better insulation than the F26.

Engine & drivetrain

The 2.0 and 3.0 petrol engines (xDrive20i, 30i and M40i) are strong, smooth and quiet. The eight-speed automatic shifts rapidly and suits the sporting character.
