The petrol range runs from the smooth, thrifty 1.5-litre three-cylinder (sDrive18i) to the punchy 2.0-litre B48 four-cylinder (20i and 25i). All are quiet and refined, with the four-cylinder adding real pace. The crisp 6-speed manual makes the most of the three-cylinder and keeps costs down.
