The 1 Series (F20) — the last rear-wheel-drive 1 Series, sharp and fun.

The F20 is the final rear-wheel-drive 1 Series, with classic BMW balance, sharp handling and efficient petrol and diesel engines.

Upgrades

The F20 grew 8.5 cm longer than the E87, adding rear legroom
An 8-speed ZF automatic replaced the E87’s 6-speed
New turbo engines (N13 petrol, N47 diesel) replaced the E87’s N43/N45
Electric power steering replaced the E87’s hydraulic system

Engine & drivetrain
